Shop Hop Stop #23: Cool Scrapbook Stuff

More embellishments! :)

It turned out Cool Scrapbook Stuff was close by to my friend's house. Tommy and I picked her up and she was our navigator. :) It's nice to have a friend to hang out for couple of hours. It's just been so long since we hung out, and went shopping together.

The themed destination at Cool Scrapbook Stuff was India. There was a small section that they put together to go with their India theme. I took my time to shop with my friend. She had been wanting to work on her scrapbook, but didn't seem to find the time for it.

I picked up a few cute journal tags, blade replacement for my silhouette digital cutter, another bottle of Glimmer Mist, and glue stamp pad. I also got some ribbons and embellishments I got a free Make N' Take as well as the bottle cap to add onto the charm necklace.

New addition to my charm necklace

Follow me to see where I headed to next with my friend. :)

Shop Hop Stop #22: Paper Tales

Goodies from Paper Tales! :)

Stop #22, Paper Tales, Destination: Japan

After Solana Beach, we went ahead and headed to Paper Tales. My friend was busy and without wasting time, we decided to visit Paper Tales first, then head over to visit my friend afterwards.

When I first walked into the store, it was busy! The store was filled with people. The store was decorate with Japanese theme. The store was so crowded, it was so difficult to get around the store to look at everything. I picked up some ribbons, some Stickles, stamp and cardstock paper. I got the Make N' Take as well as the bottle cap.

There was a class going on in the back as well. There were a group of ladies working on the album, it was pretty cool. The Make N' Take required us to do some stampings. After I made my purchase, I had to walk to the back by the crop area and prestamp the pages. I also took a picture of the 2 layouts so I could remembered how it looked like. That way, when I finally get a chance to work on it, I would know how to put it together!

1st page of the Make N' Take

2nd page of Make N' Take

I tried to stamp the page just like the sample. I took me a long while to stamp it. I wanted to make sure it stamped perfectly and exactly like the one shown. I don't think I stamped it exactly like the one showing at the store, but very similar to it.

New addition to my bottle cap necklace!

The bottle cap was so cute! It had a bird cage charm on it! I love it! I loved the color of the background as well! :)

After our trip to Paper Tales, Tommy and I stopped by to Rolando's for California Burrito at Mission Valley. It was quite funny how we drove by this same Rolando's last weekend while we were in San Diego. I hope I will be visiting the San Diego Scrapbook stores more in the near future.

Next time... Stop #23!

Shop Hop Stop #21: Paper Paper

Glitter flourishes

Last weekend of Shop Hop, Tommy and I headed to San Diego. Since the last stop, I took a break from Sunday to Friday and resumed my adventure on Saturday. I was planning to visit my friend in San Diego since I hadn't seen her in a while. Tommy and I debated if we should do a weekend trip in San Diego or just do a day trip. When Friday came along, no hotel was booked! My friend from San Diego kept asking me what my plan was during the week, I couldn't answer her.

When Saturday came around, Tommy and I had our bags packed, but still no hotel was booked. We packed in case we decided to spend a night in San Diego. We left home around 9ish, our first stop was Paper Paper in Solana Beach. I was more interested in their themed destination - Bora Bora.

If you followed my blog, you know that I went to Tahiti with Tommy back in 2009 and couldn't stop thinking how beautiful Bora Bora is. (Keep checking back, I will be posting more of my scrapbook pages from Tahiti soon)

When I first stepped into the store, it was organized with a lot of goodies. They had invitations and stationary section in the front. Toward the center and back of the store, that's where all the scrapbooking goodies at! I really loved the glitter flourishes. I bought a bunch of them. I used them on my scrapbook pages. I wished I had gotten more! :D Though, I did not like the smell of the stickers at all. Whenever I open a bag, it had a stinky plastic chemical smell. :/

I got a free Make N' Take and purchased the complimentary page and got a bottle cap to add onto my collection. They had sample Make N' Take sitting next to the register. I took a picture of them so I could remember how it looked like and put it together by myself when I came home.

Overwater Bungalow! :)

Plenty of space to put picture on here!

The store had a Photo Op as well. Come back soon to follow my next stop...

Shop Hop Stop #20: Scrapbooking Made Simple

Lots of goodies from the North Pole!

Look where we headed to... we headed to the North Pole! :) I was so tired after the last store, I wanted to go home so badly. Then again, Tommy had a different plan and headed to Scrapbooking Made Simple.

Just as I was walking in, Mrs. Claus was doing a demo on using Glitter Ritz, Copic Markers and Elizabeth Crafts Stickers. That was pretty cool! Mrs. Claus was so cute and sweet! Her demo sold me and I just had to purchase them to try them out myself at home.

I got the Make N' Takes and bottle caps to add onto my collection. It surely felt like I was at the Santa Workshop. There were free gifts with purchase, free Make N Take and bottle cap with no purchase necessary. It felt like Christmas.

2 more bottle caps to add onto my collection! :D

After our stop #20, based on Mrs. Claus (Stacey's) food recommendation to eat at Everest. She highly recommended their onion rings, zucchini fries and not to mention, their home made ranch dressing on the salad. We went to Everest for a quick dinner. We ordered a chicken salad and zucchini fries. They were really generous on the chicken on the salad. The salad was pretty big and couldn't even finished.

After dinner, we drove home and hung out at Tea Station for a quiet evening to rewind ourselves.

Until next time....

Shop Hop Stop #19: Remember When Scrapbooking

Destination: African Safari

After Once Upon A Page, I was done. I knew I would not be able to go through all 40 shops. Because of that, instead of stressing myself out, I decided to take it easy and thought Tommy and I could hang out for the rest of the day. Little did I know, he decided to be spontaneous and decided to drive to Santa Clarita to visit a few more shops. At that point, I was starting to be more careful on the money I spent. After all, money don't grow on tree. I had to watch what I was spending to budget myself. Well, that threw me off by a bit. He asked me if we were not doing Shop Hop, what would we be doing that weekend. I couldn't answer him. He's the driver, he made the decision of where to go and decided to continue the Shop Hop journey with me.

So, off we went to Santa Clarita/ Valencia. Our first stop was Remember When Scrapbooking. This store is located at the warehouse part of town. I was quite surprised how they utilized the space of the building. They turned the back part of the warehouse part into a crop area. It was pretty big. The front area was the store. It didn't feel like I was at a warehouse building at all. The space was pretty wide open. The crop area was nicely painted on the walls. There were a lot of inspiration around the store to get ideas flowing.

Yay for the goodies! :)

The store had a lot of products. I bought some ribbons and bought some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist and Glaze. I am not sure what to do with them yet! I will, eventually. :) There were some cute journal tags and just couldn't resist them. I bought a good amount of them.

I got the bottle cap as well as the Make N' Take. I got both Make N' Take. They were just so cute! :)

Another bottle cap to add onto my collection

There's quite of wonderful goodies in this store. Too bad I can't have them all! Come back in a few days and see where I headed to next!

Shop Hop Stop #18: Once Upon A Page

A Pink Theme! :)

After visiting the stamping store, we then headed to Stop #18. The next destination on the navi directed us to Once Upon A Page in Burbank. They were located across from a market, which they were cooking up some BBQ that day. It smelled so good! No, we didn't go get any.

When we first walked into the store, it was neat and organized. The themed destination here was Beverly Hills. They had a Photo Op at the back of the store, decorated in black and pink. I really took my time to look around the store. It just happened that everything I picked up there was all pink!

I decided to buy the letter stickers. They really come in handy! They were foam and filled with glitters! It would give my project a nice dimension. I bought more embellishments. I just can't seem to get enough of them!

I got a free Make N' Take and bought the second Make N' Take pages. However, it turned out that they ran out of the Make N' Takes and they had a mailing list for the customers who wanted it, they would send it directly to us. That was pretty cool. The Make N' Takes were really cute. I also got the bottle cap as well. This bottle cap is pretty cool! This bottle cap has dimension! The book in the middle seems to have a metal material. It's almost like a pin.

Bottle cap I received

I was done shopping after this one. I was ready to go home and relax and spend the rest of our Saturday relaxing. Little did I know, Tommy had a different plan.... To be continued...

Shop Hop Stop #17: Stampin' From The Heart

Goodies I bought!

Day 9, Stop#17 - Steampin' From the Heart - Themed Destination: Holland

After AtoZ Scrapbooking, Tommy and I decided to take a break to have lunch before continuing my shop hop journey. We stopped by to Al-Hamra Halal Cafe for lunch. We ordered Chicken Shawerma, Gyros wrapped in Pita and Tabouli Salad. The food came out pretty quickly. It was quite a bit of food for us.

After our lunch, we headed to Stampin' From the Heart. The store had alot of people cropping. The store mainly sold stamps. They had a big collections of stamps of sorts lined up on the walls. They organized the stamps by theme. I know exactly where to go for my stamping needs! There's so many, you bound to find the write stamp for your design and occasion! :) They had a good section of papers around the store as well. I found some transparencies with designs on them. I decided to get them.

I got a free Make N' Take and also bought the 2nd page of the Make N' Take. I also go the bottle cap as well. There were several bottle cap designs. The lady who took care of me was really nice and patience with me. She pulled out the different designs to show me. I asked her which one were the popular ones, and she showed me the crowd's favorite. Eventually, I picked one and was quite happy with my choice.

There's a tulip charm on the bottom!
Where to next?

Shop Hop Stop #16: A to Z Scrapbooking

Welcome to New Orleans!

After Sonja's Scrapbook Spot, we headed to A to Z Scrapbooking in Torrance. Tommy entered a bunch of scrapbook stores on his navi and had it route the best possible way it could come up with. We just followed what the navi said.

The themed destination here was New Orleans, LA. It had a Mardi Gras theme in the store. If I remembered correctly, I think they were even playing Jazzy/ Saxophone style music over the stereo. Just like the name of the store, the store had everything. The store was big and organized and sectioned by themes. Any projects I am working on, I am sure I can easily find the things I need here. However, I had a eye sensory overload while I was shopping around, I ended up buying both pages of the Make N' Take and the bottle cap.

That's all I got....

Don't get me wrong that I didn't buy anything because I had a problem with the store. It's not the case. It's just there's so many goodies there that I just don't know where to start. Everything I need seems to have it in my craft room. Having Tommy around doesn't really help at times because he would ask me if I really needed it and made me feel more conscious of what I buy. Nonetheless, this store is like a one stop shop with so many products in the store, you can easily find what you need for your next project.
